Hello and welcome to the ByteSized AI newsletter. This newsletter is focused on giving you byte-sized information that you can consume in a short period of time on the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence.

AI can be a little bit overwhelming, and no matter where you turn these days, it's in your face. We all hear about it, and you might have tried products like ChatGPT, but you're curious how you can work it into your day-to-day life.

In this newsletter, you will learn about fundamental AI concepts so the next time you hear them, you'll be able to join in the conversation. I will also give you practical tips, tricks, and use cases where you can learn to be more productive at whatever you do.

I chose the name "byte sized" because I want to keep each of these posts digestible. I also chose the .dev domain partly because I am a developer and I can approach AI from a developer's point of view, but also because the .com was taken 🤣

Our Focus

My primary audience is anyone who wants to learn more about AI. For those completely new to the subject, I will cover fundamental terms and concepts, and I will try to break them down without the need to dig through scientific papers. I will reserve the right to pivot, but to begin, my main focus is on these categories:

AI for Learning

I'm a lifelong learner, and I love to learn new things and teach them back to you. I guess you can say that I started this newsletter for selfish reasons. I'm no expert, and I find the world of AI fascinating and want to learn more. They say the best way to learn something is to teach. First, you learn something to understand it, and then you learn it well enough to teach it back to someone else.

AI for Developers

I have been a developer for over 23 years, so I will be using that experience to bring a developer's point of view to the conversation. There will be times when I talk about using AI as a developer, building apps with the assistance of AI, and how to build intelligent applications with AI.

AI for Content Creators

I am a creator, and I will share how I am using AI as a content creator. No, I didn't use AI to generate this article, but I do use it for a variety of tasks including research, planning, editing, and more. As a content creator you usually have a number of platforms you have to create content for. One way I am leveraging AI these days is by taking a piece of content and repurposing it for different platforms.

AI for Business

For business owners, I'll explore how AI can transform various aspects of your operations. From customer service chatbots to predictive analytics for inventory management, we'll dive into practical applications of AI that can boost efficiency, cut costs, and drive growth. I'll also discuss the ethical considerations and potential challenges of implementing AI in your business.

For business owners, embracing AI can give you a competitive edge. It can help you make data-driven decisions, automate repetitive tasks, and provide personalized experiences for your customers. The key is to start small, experiment, and gradually integrate AI solutions that align with your business goals.

Conclusion

The one common theme I hear among creative-type workers is that they are scared that AI is going to replace them. I completely understand that fear, and one day we may have to realize that and pivot, but today is not that day.

While it may not replace us, it is here to augment our work, and you don't want to be late to the party. If you think of generative AI as another tool in your tool belt, you will have the ultimate tool to help be more productive and succeed in any area of your life.
